TikTok Shop Fees 2026: Referral Fee, Affiliate Commissions and Real Profit
TikTok Shop's headline fee looks low next to Amazon or eBay, but the real cost depends on creator commissions, which can be bigger than the platform fee itself.
Short answer: the referral fee is 6% to 8% for most US categories, and it already includes payment processing. Creator affiliate commissions of 5-25% come on top if you use them.
Referral fee: 6% or 8%?
- TikTok's own category table, last revised in May 2026, lists 6% for most categories (jewelry is lower at 5%).
- Seller resources reported an increase to 8% for most non-food categories from August 4, 2026, before the public table was updated.
Until the official documentation is clear, check the rate on your own settlement statements in Seller Center. To be safe, our calculator uses 8% by default.
The good news: payment processing is included in the referral fee, so there is no separate card fee like on Etsy or Shopify.
New seller discount
New US sellers who make their first sale within 60 days of onboarding can get a 3% referral rate for 30 days. It is temporary, so don't base long-term prices on it.
Creator affiliate commissions
Most TikTok Shop sales come from creator videos and lives. You set a commission for creators who promote your product, typically 5-25% of the sale. This is often the single biggest cost on TikTok Shop.
Fulfilled by TikTok
If TikTok fulfills your orders, expect roughly $2.86-$4.28 per unit, depending on size and weight. Otherwise you pay your own shipping and packaging.
Worked example: a $29.99 item
Product cost $10, shipping & packaging $5:

Without affiliates, TikTok Shop is one of the cheapest marketplaces. With a 15% creator commission, it costs more than Amazon on the same product. Pricing for creator sales needs to account for that from the start.
Price for a 25% margin
At 8% and no affiliate commission, you need at least $22.39 to keep a 25% margin. If you also pay a 15% creator commission, use the calculator's "Other cost per unit" field to add it and see the new minimum price.
